Giving more capabilities previously reserved for the pro edition of ChatGPT to users on the free plan, OpenAI has been in a giving mood lately. Now, it is the turn of AI image-generating access to DALL-E 3.

OpenAI's AI image generator, DALL-E 3, can produce lifelike images, generate text, and enable inpainting, much as tools like Midjourney, Flux, or Ideogram can do.

OpenAI made most of its paid-for features, including image analysis, coding, and use of bespoke GPTs, free for the first time following the release of GPT-4o earlier this year. Though image generation wasn't on that list, it even made GPT-4o, the most potent model on the platform, accessible to free users (with a daily usage limit).

How can I make free Images with ChatGPT?

Though ChatGPT does most of the work, it is easy to use. It will be for you, as OpenAI noted on X: "Just ask ChatGPT to create an image for a slide deck, personalize a card for a friend, or show you what something looks like."

While ChatGPT will cover any gaps depending on its training schedule, be detailed. So indicate that you wish the card to show a cat. Text rendering could be better, too, but using double quotes will help to be more accurate.

Although free users can now generate images, they will only be limited to two per day; thus, if you wish to create several changes or even enough images for a comic book, you must choose another site or pay $20 per month for Pro.

What Else Does ChatGPT Offer for Free?

Earlier this year, OpenAI aimed to arm as many people as possible with the most potent artificial intelligence technologies.

ChatGPT free users have improved greatly; now, you can create DALL-E images for free.

The firm provided free users with many of the tools Pro subscribers took for granted—including the capacity to employ a variety of custom chatbots and features developed by outside parties—to reach that aim.

The most significant difference was finally gaining access to the most potent model, GPT-4o, instead of leveraging the two-year-old GPT-3.5. Since then, versions that can operate on a smartphone have surpassed that one in benchmarks.

Furthermore, upload features are accessible to free users, allowing users to use GPT-4o's AI vision and analysis tools, enabling one to examine the specifics of an uploaded image and explain what it contains. Giving it ingredients and having it present a recipe is my preferred application for this.
