TikTok Introduces a Streak Feature Similar to Snapchat
TikTok is experimenting with a new streak feature, drawing parallels to Snapchat's popular streaks. Although the company has not released an official statement, it confirmed that this feature is currently being tested in select markets and with a limited group of users.
How TikTok's Streak Feature Works
The mechanics of earning a streak on TikTok are simple: users need to maintain a direct message conversation with someone for at least three consecutive days. Upon achieving this, a streak badge will appear in the chat, indicating the number of consecutive days the streak has lasted.
In recent days, many users have shared their experiences with TikTok's streak feature on social media, indicating its growing presence within the app.

A streak will end if neither party sends a message within 24 hours of the last message. TikTok notifies users when their streak is about to end, encouraging them to continue the conversation.
Disabling TikTok Streak Feature and Notifications
If users wish to turn off the streak notifications, they can do so by navigating to Settings > Privacy > Notifications > Streak settings. This menu also includes an option to disable in-app streak notifications.
The Social Significance of Streaks
Snapchat streaks have long been a symbol of close relationships and frequent interactions among friends. By introducing a similar feature, TikTok aims to foster the same sense of connection and engagement.
Last year, Snapchat introduced a paid feature allowing users to temporarily pause their streaks, along with an option to restore streaks. TikTok's new feature seems to be a step towards replicating the success and social significance of Snapchat's streaks.
